GREETINGS: Central Florida Chapter Members,

CHAPTER NEWS FOR THE 2016-2017 SEASON:

The first shoot will take place at the Sarasota Jungle Gardens, Wednesday, November 16th.   It opens at 10 AM so we will meet in the parking lot at 9:45. It would be best, from a time prospective, to have lunch in the confines of the park. Those of you that want to continue shooting after lunch should do so as the Park is open until 5 PM. The address is 3701 Bay Shore Rd. Sarasota, FL. http://www.sarasotajunglegardens.com/

Our second engagement will take place at the Marjorie Rawlings Homestead, Friday, January 27th. It is about 127 mi. North of Tampa and the drive time is about 2 hours 30 minutes.  For those of you that can arrive about 8:45 AM there will be time to shoot the buildings and the grounds in time to join the 10 AM guided tour. For those who arrive later you can join the 11 AM tour. The address is 18700 So. CR 325 Cross Creek, Fl.  http://marjoriekinnanrawlings.org/park-info/
Now for a nice surprise.   There is an old town, Micanopy, that is located about 10 miles from our first stop. I am told there are many good images to make, including HDR opportunities on some of the old buildings. There are restaurants in town for lunch.

On Wednesday, March 8th we will have the good fortune to shoot The Butterfly Rainforest in Gainesville, Fl. The address is 3215 Hull Rd, Florida Museum of Natural History, Gainesville, FL 32611-2710   http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/index.php/exhibits/always-on-display/butterfly-rainforest/visitor-info/
We will announce the start time early next year.

I hope you members will make an effort to participate in these forthcoming activities.

To the Florida Central Chapter members,

It is important for our chapter to grow. Two things need to happen, new blood in the Chapter, ,interesting photo outings and programs. To accomplish that total goal we arranged a diverse shoot to be completed over a ten day period. Twelve PSA members participated, including five guests. The participants chose to shoot the venues that interested them. Some shot for two or three days others for six days, Lynn Thompson and I did the whole ten days. This gathering was responsible for two new members, Elena McTighe, FPSA and Lynn Thompson, FPSA. The group met new friends, discussed photo tips and enjoyed many good meals together and many photographed areas seen for the first time. From the initial input this experience was enjoyed by all.
Respectfully submitted,

Erik Rosengren, APSA, PPSA
Program Committee Chairman

2016 CENTRAL FLORIDA CHAPTER SHOWCASE IMAGES

As a Chapter member, you can now have a personal gallery on the PSA website that is linked to our Chapterís main page.

To create a gallery, you are asked to furnish three things; a portrait of yourself, a biography of approximately 250 words (donít be modest) and six images.  The portrait and images should be sized at a maximum 1024 pixels horizontally and 768 pixels vertically.  These items will be used to create your gallery page.  These pages should be kept fresh by changing photos every three months.

Setting up the galleries is easy.  Go to: www.psa-photo.org/member-galleries/get-chapter-member-entry.php     Once there, you can upload your images and type your biography.

The system to do this is already in place and galleries can be set up now.  Please allow two days for the galleries to be posted from the time that they are submitted.

Jim Mahoney, Chairman
